After much deliberation & questions asked/answered here, I had the Fass II installed yesterday. My initial observations were 1) FP at idle was 14. 5- 15 lbs (have a 15 lb gauge) 2) Truck appears to run around 15. 5 - 16 lbs. Never dropped below 15 lbs. upon acceleration and actually "seemed" to increase (as much as I could tell) on WOT. 3) EGT's seemed to run about 50 degrees-75 degrees COOLER than before... . if this makes any sense. 4) Response from the CTD also appeared to be faster than previously experiences.
Do have 1 question... Driving in winter conditions, I can see the Fass becoming coated with the sand/salt mixtures that are very much a part of winter life here. Is the Fass "watertight" enough to withstand being washed by the wand at the carwash when cleaning the undercarriage of the truck?? OR would it be permissible to cover the Fass with a "plastic baggy" or similar material during the winter months to keep the unit clean or does it need air circulation around it????
Inital First Impression: Very Positive!!!
