I finished my install of my FASS 95/95 on Saturday. That install went very smooth until I kept getting a persistant fuel leak from the CP3 where the fuel enters it. I initially torqued the fitting into the CP3 (18 ft-lbs) as per directions. I did the same for the hose fitting. The problem was the original line I had removed continued to leak fuel from it. The only way to get that to stop was to drain the OEM filter housing. I'm sure there are a bunch of you out there saying, "Duh..... ". It would have been nice to find that addressed in the directions.

The Isspro fuel and rail gauges are nice. The orange connectors that you assemble for the back of the gauges suck. The LED lights in the rail gauge when the lights are turned on pulses. It stops pulsing when I turn the dimmer to its highest setting. I like to run my dash a little lower than the highest setting. I was able to turn the lights down one click and keep the rail gauge from pulsing. Don't understand that when I daisy chained the fuel pressure to the rail gauge and the LED lights in the fuel pressure gauge worked as advertised. The gauge install took me longer than the FASS install. It does look good but Man, what a job.

Forgot about the Smarty Jr! That thing is amazing. I pulled my VA C3. 1 and drove the truck for about 20 minutes. Then installed the Performance setting and OMG! Drove at 100 HP setting then reloaded the Towing as that is what this truck does. That setting feels very like the VA C3. 1. I'll be towing this weekend so we'll see if there is a difference to me.

Still no smoke though :( I was hoping for a little.

I did my FASS 95/95 yesterday, it works great. Now the irritating part: I own a short bed truck which means the instructions are absolutely worthless. The mounting bracket has to be heavily modified in order to be installed properly. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of instructions for the price I paid. The instructions were vague at best, always telling you to "torque to specifications"... . yet no specification is listed, except for the CP3 . The bracket that mounts to the spring perch is way to long and has to be cut down considerably, and also the corner brace in the bracket has to be cut/shaped to fit. Now, I just paid almost $600 for this pump, is it too much to ask to get a bracket that fits without me having to modify it? Also, no mention of what to do with the old pump and housing. Can I remove the entire factory system? I don't know until I get the FASS installed and run it. Only then do I know I can remove all the old stuff. DPP did a great job with the pump itself, but failed on everything else. As I said earlier, if you have a shortbed truck, throw the instructions away, they will not help you, they will only frustrate you.

Truth be told, I mounted my bracket in January Even with a long box it is not a simple drill some holes and mount it up. I ground out a small section out of the leg that bolts to the truck frame because if I mounted the bracket to the bed mount, I could not lower the pump enough to not interfere with something bad under there. By notching the bracket I lowered it about 1. 5". I actually considered welding the bracket on the truck. As for the subject of what to do with what remains, That should really be addressed in the instructions. I am going to remove my OEM stuff and buy the GDP filter elimination kit. Looks like a very nice piece and the only two things left are the fuel line from the tank that used to hook to the OEM lift pump and the WIF wiring. From what little I can gather, the WIF connector should be kept dry so I will bag it in a ziplock bag with a tie strap to keep it dry. Haven't decided on the remaining fuel line yet. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Sweet pump though when all is said and done.
