Looking for ideas, suggestions, SWAG's

The front filter on my FASS has leaked at the seal since new. I have replaced it once. Inspection of the seat for the seal shows nothing remarkable. It will not leak in normal driving, but always developes a drip after pulling my 5er. not bad, about 10-15 drops. I'm stumped. I can stop the drip by giving it a little (1/4 in ) turn with a filter wrench. I took the original filter off thinking I had messed up the seal by over tightening. The second filter was dry for 2 weeks. Until last weekend when I pulled from Phoenix to Flagstaff. dripped when i got there. gave it a 1/4" turn stopped the drip. Got home Sunday, dripping again. . Just enough to leave a 8" circle of fuel on the garage floor. Now it will quit dripping and not start again until I hook up the 5th wheel. I am thinking it relates to heat, but unsure how... Anyone notice how much heat these things return to the tank through the return line ? A significant amount of BTU's for sure.

One last thing. . When first installed I had high (20-22 psi) pressure. I removed the spring and squished it in my vice, now runs 15 psi idle down to 12 on a real hard pull WOT.

Any other drippy FASS owners ?? How did you cure it ??

My filter also leaked when I installed mine. I was told to take the seal out and soak it in grease for awhile so that it would swell alittle. This did help, but didn't fix the leak totally, so Brad Ekstram sent me a new filter and I've had no problems since. This is my first reply to a post so I hope this works.
