FASS Motor Update Campaing....starts today!

We have been talking about a motor update program for the units that still have the serviceable brush motor. This program would allow... .



FASS SN#: xxxx - 4930



HPFP (150 GPH) SN#: xxx - 912



HPFP (95 GPH) SN#: xxxx - 1017



..... and older (lower numerically) to be eligible for an update to the new EM-1001 motor (and updated T-block for the FASS) at a reduced price. We are going to offer this upgrade for $175. 00 for the FASS and $195. 00 for the HPFP (New/Better billet hanging bracket needed for HPFP install).



We will require a $175 Core for the FASS and $155. 00 core for the HPFP. All cores will be refunded when the older motors, motor bases (and T-block for FASS) arrive at DPP for inspection. All cores are subject to verification. Only serviceable motors will be accepted in this campaign. DO NOT JUST SEND IN YOUR UNIT! IT WILL BE REFUSED IF IT DOES NOT HAVE A DEALER ISSUED RMA#. ALSO, a SN# will be needed.





We will also be offering a 4 year warranty covering these new motors. New warranty paperwork will be sent out with each motor replacement. The customer will need to fill this out and return it to us along with a purchase receipt. This new 4 year warranty will cover the motor ONLY. The customer will have 30 days from date of purchase to send in the registration card with a copy of the sales receipt.



Because of the sucess we had with this program, we are going to extend this update into 2008

i just bought a 150 fass pump and want to know when and if i could upgrade to the 200 pump coming out , i don t really need more pressure just volume

The 200 GPH pump is not included in this campaign. BUT you can upgrade you current system to it. Part number is RP-1006.

These motors have been pretty much trouble free for us. There has been a small few (Under 10) with bearings that go out... . but that is to be expected with the volume we are running. We have not had a failure due to brushes to date. These motors seal out moisture better than the last ones. The benefit for you is that you can renew a 4 year wnty on your unit and get some updates in the process. Just to let you know as well, we still carry the brushes for the servable motors.

Ideally, every 10,000-15,000 hrs. BUT some caps didn’t seal out moisture and the brushes were corroding (Due to moisture breaching the seals) and sticking then the slides. This would cause the motor on the FASS to stop. 90% of the time is could be made to run again by tapping on the side of the motor. ALSO the brushes could be taken out and clean with emery cloth and the slides cleaned with electrical cleaner and pressurized air. Then seal the caps with silicone and/or dielectric grease.



ALSO the older harnesses relied on the ground from the Computer to run the FASS. This was not a good ground is all cases and caused the grounding brush in the motor to ware out very fast. This is why we went to a new harness with a relay and direct ground to the BATT.

Repair of the motor is covered under wnty. Most times a good clean and brush replacement will do the trick to get them going again for a long time. BUT a lot of the older units only had a 2 year wnty. This is to give them a chance to upgrade and renew a 4 year wnty with us.

I had to pay mucho bucks for my upgrade pump from Keith at MCS Diesel. He called and was told my pump was to old for any credit.

Depending on when you got your new pump, this may have been the case. We are only 2 weeks into the update program.

Diesel Dan: I did not buy mine through a dealer. It was bought directly over the phone speaking with Brad over 30 months ago. So if I wish to participate, what do I need to do? I do admit that my bracket is looking the worse for wear but the pump has been great so far. I also modified it when I received it to use a relay and a heavier guage of wire w/ ground going to the battery. This was well before Brad came out with his version as I believe myself and others were providing him with feedback for his upgrades to design.

The only way that it cant be covered under this program, is if its after the SN#'s listed in the first post. If its under thoes SN#'s, you are able to upgrade. (Only the motors with the brush caps)

According to the prices in the first post, we only have to pay a core charge. The core charge will be returned when we return the old parts. Is there any other charges we need to be aware of ? Is everything I have stated above correct ? Sam
