Has anyone drilled and tapped for a mounting bracket on the opposite side of factory bracket? I'd like to mount the fass with some finger bushings to isolate the pump vibrations from the frame and it would be better if I could support it from both sides so there is more direct compression on the bushing and not a bit of shear due to the bracket being only on one side.

Hopefully someone has done this so I don' t have to guess the safe places to drill w/o hitting an internal passage!

Thanks!

I know no one who has done what you have said. All the FASS owners I know just mount the unit as they say and leave it alone and have zero issues.

I know when I had my motor fail a month ago Charlie sent me a new heavy rubber isolator to place in between the two mounts to limit the niose and vibration for those owners who wanted a quieter pump. I never installed mine as after asking him I was informed it was not necessary but provided in case it was wantyed to be used.

I must be the odd owner then as I actually like being able to hear the FASS unit running.

Its really not that loud anyway but hearing it provides me with piece of mind that I have no issues. You can only hear mine when you stop or are parked as it can not be heard while driving.
