I am looking for a fuel system upgrade to eliminate the banjos and permanent solution to the lift pump failures.

The FASS looks like a great solution and the people who own it seem to love it from all the posts I have read.

Are their other products on the horizon or is it as safe bet to go with the FASS right now?

Thanks!

Preporator is comming out with a new "airdog" specifically for our trucks, smaller size, neater package. Introductory price is about the same as FASS. Do a search and your homework, FASS and perporator are in some legal issues so be forwarned of what your going to read. Toss the legal asside and pick which fits you.

Wildcat Diesel PE pump

Wildcat Diesel is working with P. E. on a regulated ( I think regulated) pump that mounts in the same location as the factory...

I haven't talked to Rod in a while but the last time he e-mail me he said he was waiting on a quote from a machine shop to price out the system.

Get The FASS and all your worrys will go Bye Bye.

Have had mine on for 30,000 the sucker runs just smooth and consistant as the cummins. Mine sometimes runs for days straight and fuel pres is always the same 18PSI.

FASS== great value and an excellent product.

Watch the 'Two Guys Garage' Program on the Speed Channel on Saturday, May 15th at 7:30 EST. The Fuel Preporator Air Dog will be featured. Also, you will be able to see our demonstration stand in action. Good info, you don't want to miss this one.

Thanks,

Charlie

If you have a 3500 Quad Cab, Short Bed the FASS will not bolt on as shown in the instructions. I have been waiting for one week for Brad (the manufacturer) to specify a substitute location that will allow the unit to be mounted high enough.

There is another braket that is made for the short bed. When you order the Fass you need to let them know which bed you have. Mine bolted right up.

Don't miss the "two Guys Garage" program on the Speed Channel Saturday May 15th @ 7:30 PM EST. Sam and Dave will be explaining the air/fuel separation system, Fuel Preporator's AIR DOG. See it installed and dyno'd.

The Air Dog comes in two models. FP-80 (80/90gph) & FP-80hp (High performance at 120/130gph). Included: relay controlled wiring harness with low pressure indicator light, Heavy duty mounting brackets (no drilling required), tank connects w/fuel return system, fuel lines, 12mm X -8 flare fitting, re-buildable fuel pump motor. Air Dog is an ISO Quality Manufactured product approved for sale and use in California by CARB.

High performance diesels return a high flow back to the tank. This creates a high vacuum at the lift pump resulting in excessive cavitation and fuel vapor. Additionally, the high flow back to the tank entrains lots of air in the fuel. Air/vapor in the injector lines is compressible. This delays the pressure build up in the injector which delays the injection. Retarded injection prevents your engine from producing the power you are building into it. Air Dog fixes this problem.

Brandon, check out the "Two Guy's Garage" program to see what I am talking about!!

Thanks,

Charlie

My question is, is it a simple swap to upgrade from unit to another, say, if I was to outgrow it? Also, at what point do you go from the standard to the HP???

Dave

Go with the FASS. I have been running in now for several months. If I was to buy a new truck it would be the first mod. I would make to the truck. Truck runs better and I have piece of mind that I will not have troubles. And the price is right.

I'm installing a Racor in line fuel heater

Racor model # 14278

www.maesco.com

I'm using the factory fuel heater wiring to trigger a relay to provide power to the thermostat controled version of the Racor heater

Now that looks like a hot setup. It would be a real bummer to have a reliable fuel system gelled and no way to run the vehicle. Full link to inline heater is

For most vehicles the heater is not necessary.

This winter, soon after I installed the FASS, my truck was parked in -32F temps for 12 hours at a time, for two days. I have an Espar, but that doesn't help the fuel gelling problem. The fuel was 50/50 #1 and #2 blend, with Amsoil conditioner. I didn't have the Racor installed at that time, and no problems!!
