Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fass problem

Dadgommit! Now im not talkin bad about fass by any means! There a great company that stands behind there product. But i am saying the heck with this fass pump! I think im going to a cam and manual pump! The otherday i was sitting in the drive through and realized i didnt have any fp. This is the third time this fass has messed up on me! I figured i would give them another chance and orderd a updated pump and wiring harness got the new pump on noticed alot alot more noise almost unbareable ! Now short one VP i think ive determined it was somthing in the wiring harness it just sucks im out 1200 bucks! All thanks to fass! Anyone have anyidea how much it runs to cam and go with a manual pump?

Thanks for the help! Again please dont take it as im doggin DPP there great people but they should give some better reliabilty with 1000 buck pumps that are in danger with low FP!

Makeing the rounds i see..... like i said... . i dont recall ever recieveing any calls on your situations or any threads on questions..... you say you dont mean to bad mouth..... but come on... ... lets call a spade a spade here. I am willing to work with you on here and over on DTR..... you pick... give me a chance to help you fix your problem... ... . you have my attention.

I have had excellent luck with mine. It is a little noisy, but like you can hear it with the engine running anyway.

Are you using our harness or one you built? AND if you are tapping for power... . are you sure you are taping the correct wire to the power? I’m willing to bet you have issues on how you are getting your power..... are you familiar with how the ECM runs the FASS when hooked up the stock way?



Turn on the key to for the "WTS" light -- Pump will bump for . 5 seconds and turn off.



Bump the engine but don’t start -- pump will pulse for about 0. 5 seconds and run for 20 or so seconds



Cranking the engine to start and back to run position -- The ECM reduces the duty cycle of the pump to 25%. it does this by pulsing. Once RPM is detected, it runs the pump at 100% duty cycle until the key is shut off.



Are you 100% sure you got everything wired up correctly? ALL connections solid? I would go back and remove all butt splices and solder every connection.



You made a mention that you got a WH-1002 for your truck... . did you modify this harness to work? Or did you try to run it stock. Unless you have a ECM issue, or hard start, you should not have to worry about modifying the harness.

Sorry for the lengthy reply times ! Ive been out of town! Again please understand by no means do i think fass is bad or dpp is a bad company, Heck i dont even think that This is a fass problem, Dan im sorry if it came out as a problem with yall, i was just a little frustrated loosing a vp44. Again my appologies and i hope everyone understands i wasnt bashing fass! Im very happy with my fass. I had considerd a cam for spoolup and egts but im saving for twins and keeping my fass! Im thinking its somthing in the truck wiring but i posted a thread in dtr about it for anyone interested! Again sorry for the delay, if i had been in i would have taken care of the confusion! again my deepest appologies on the matter and for anyone looking to buy a fass its a great choice with great cust. support. Please dont take my post as bashing!

Dan, Olee got that worked out, I think it was mostly a wiring problem! Again i appologize if it sounded like i was bashing! I really wasnt! Ill let you know if he finds it was a relay or a truck problem

Good thing is your VP-44 is good after cleaning up the wiring and set of new battery and a shot of ether SHE is back to life.
