Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) FASS Pumps

Air Dog is No good I live up in Canada and I never had the filters freeze up on me. Buddy of mine has Air dog and mounted it on the skid plate and now in the winter he has to crawl under the truck to remove the ice and the snow from the filters. So IS IT BETTER? FASS you mount it and you are Done and with over a millon Km and no work to the FASS I'm not complaining.

I would think it would be warmer by the transfer case. If he is still having trouble he can get a mount to put it in the normal location (outside frame).

Why not just leave them 3/8 inch? The 1/2 inch lines sure add to the cost - if the 3/8 inch is fine why switch?

We dont send 1/2" lines on our kits. Only 3/8's... the D-max kits are the only ones with 1/2" from us... and its only used to work with the stock 1/2" line the Chevys use.

The line issue is total overkill, you can get almost 4 gallons per minute from a 3/8" id line at these pressures, which is just under 240 gallons per hour!!! If you need more fuel than that you shouldn't be driving on the street!!!

Wow! I never dreamed I would get this much response... . To be quite honest I know there has been a lot of talk about filter size and other features of Fass vs Airdog but I was mainly looking at just the fass pump... . I just want to supply the vp with additional fuel and keep the pressure up. So How hard was the install? From reading the posts I'll state that I don't need 1/2" upgrades as my truck is pretty stock. I'm just concerned about the presure dropping to 5 or less on hard pulls and the impact of adding a box on an already (what appears to be) weak pump.

The FASS 150/95-1008, or FASS 95/95-1008 will be fine for anything you have now, and do to your truck in the future. You asked about a FASS... . this is the pump you would want.....

I have the FASS 95 pump only plumbed with 3/8" line. I installed it myself with no problem. I had the bed of the truck off (mostly out of curiosity) so it made the tank work easier. I had actually bought a big line kit from Olee Poole a long time ago. I bought the Vulcan Big Line relocation kit but had trouble with some leaking fittings (just my experience, no bashing here). I took the whole thing back out, used Olee's lines from the VP to the fuel filter and then used the FASS line from the fuel filter back to the pump.



I get 15 PSI no matter what, I really like it! I also have the newer version that uses the original pump wire as a relay and hooks up directly to the battery. Seems like a stout setup.



Humorous aside - I misunderstood where the FASS was mounted and removed the bed of the truck. My moment of revelation that the pump mounted to the bed rail came AFTER the bed was already off!! Doh...

Any truck that can polish a GTS like that we are proud to be on! Olee sent me that vid..... very nice! You just dont get a good understanding of how fast these trucks are until you have a referance mark... ... enter Viper GTS..... :--) :-laf
