Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) fuel pressure

Hi all, I just installed the fass fuel pump. I also installed the draw straw II as my truck had the in tank fuel pump. My problem is whenever I get down to a half tank of fuel-- the fass will lose pressure down to 3-5 p. s. i. when I slow down at a corner or a stop sign. I let it idle and in about 10 seconds it returns to normal ( 15-17 p. s. i. ) The guage I am using is the one incorporated with the attitude-- plumbed in at the vp44 inlet port.

Any ideas?????

You are beginning to suck up air from the tank. Mine does this when I get below 6gal in the tank and stop quickly or face down hill. I just have a 1/2" fuel line with a 1/2" T-Fitting in the bottom of the tank (held down with the fuel sending unit assembly).

You can try getting the pickup lower in the tank and holding it down with the sending unit assembly.

I put the draw straw about 3/16" from bottom of tank and ground a 30 degree angle on the end. I can't believe the drawstraw and the fuel line are sucking air-- maybe I'll pull tank again and double check!!
