The owners manual does not specify when to change the filter. It did however come with a list of compatible filters and an "estimated life of the filter" listing. The Fleetguard HF6338 for example has an estimated life of 48-128,000 miles. That's a huge gap  So how do we know when it's time? Fuel pressure?

I have a 3 micron filter on mine and changed it at 34,000. miles. Slight improvement in fuel pressure and pump noise went down. Filter Had alot of crap in it. I fueled alot off a 1000 gallon tank/pump setup.

If you take your pressure on the engine side of the FASS unit like I do (Duh) I change mine when the daytime (warm) pressure is 2 pounds down from new.

Fuel pressure is taken just before the OEM filter. Hasn’t changed since the day I installed the FASS unit. Guess it's all good. Got 23K on the filters that came with it. I think I'm good for a while.
