Competition Anyone ever hear of these guys??

Competition launch

Well this weekend we took off the stock fuel system and installed the Fass 150. the insatll was pretty easy made some custom bracketry mods because of an air compresor that was in the way other then that pretty staright forward. We have 45psi but are looking for 60 psi minimum as the Schied overflow valve opens at between 50-55psi. Brad and Dan are sending us out some diferent springs thanks guy's.

We went with 1/2" pickup out of the top of the tank to -12 line to the pump and -10 up to the p-pump were it goes to -6 but that will have to change soon. I have the Haisley system still, and double feeding the pump, but will eventually loose the Haisley system and double feed from the FASS system.

All these new electrical componets (Fans, Water Pumps, Fuel Pumps) I am thinking about filling the bed with solar panels :-laf

It's impossible to

use the 200 GPH capacity... . I know hiher pressure - but you need a much bigger diesel running very hard and a BIG TANK say a locomotive to use a lot of fuel... ... and you locomotive types - how much fuel does a big 6000 HP GE or EMD use?????

The big deal with the 200 gph is that it is designed to operate @ 50psi. The others will operate that high and higher modded correctly however the extra draw on the motor can take its toll and no on knows how long it will run. Brett from Industrial found that out when his FASS quit on him in Redding.

I am running the 200 on my 06.

Mark, we think we were runing the rail dry at the end of the pull we had no fuel at the injectors and took for ever to get it primed again so I think the stock pump was on its way out or leaking air etc...

I told Brad at FASS what I was doing and this is the pump they sent. I said I needed a minimum of 60 PSI, we should be there with the new springs wether its a FASS 150 or 200. What is the difference in the two anyway? is it just the springs?

Just make up a new bracket off the front bumper and start stacking more batteries for weight! That would give your truck some real character! :-laf

Jason, Brett told me that they thought it was a relay on thier FASS in Redding? I walked over just as they got it running agin and I watched the gauge go to 100 PSI!

Jason, No, Scott changed out the P-pump for triple CP3's, because of all the 900hp 3rd gen's at MM06. :-laf

The motor on my 200 is about twice the size of the one on my 150.

Rail? HUH?

I thought you had a 12v!

No, it was the motor. We pulled the motor off and had 12v at the wiring harness but the motor no workie. Good thing I had my $25 Multimeter in the truck.

If I add 2 more pumps does than mean I'll have 1500hp?! :D

Scott,

So now you are running the FASS straight to the Injection pump??

Thats what im doin but i was told i need more psi than the 150 GPH FASS can push without putting a lot of strain on it. (stock for the 150GPH is 15PSI, I shimmed the spring up to 30) So i think 50PSI is what my injection pump needs

Dan from DPP told me this

"The 200 GPH units can be set up to several different pressures. Max is prob just a bit over 100 PSI for the 200 GPH"

So, if the motor was toasted how did they get it running agin? Spare?

Michael, the cummins stock system is 15psi. I don't think any FASS-150 systems run lower then 45psi. I specifiacly told them who I was, and what I was doing with the pump, and that I needed a minimum of 60psi. They sent me the 150 so I have to trust they know what they are doing, although I only have 45psi right now.

Jason, Figuratively speaking, I was putting it in 24 valve terms for you.

Tom, LOL on the 3rd gen stuff.

Brad could have sent you a 150/180-45psi. That is what it sounds like happend. I don't think Brad would have sent you a 150/150-21psi. 45 psi would be minimum to make the system work and if you want to make it rock you raise to 70-80psi like you have said. The point is the 150/180-45 already has the big motor and pump that the 200pgh has. Brett has gone through 2 150gph pumps todate. It just does not like higher pressures.

I guess we will see how this one likes it. Is Brett's a daily driver? I may have an advantage as its not so it might last much longer. I still have the Haisley aux system to fall back on if need be, but it only puts out approx 45psi.

Thank for the info though, I will keep an eye on it.
