Reb,

Please keep us/me up to date if FASS treats YOU as a dealer to your liking. P. M. me if need be. TIA Jeff

I finally got around to installing the new pump motor and have not had one issue since I installed it. I thought I would post an update in fairness to DAN. He continued to send me PM's even though I beat up FASS pretty good. Anyway he made everything right by me with the motor price and warranty.

Fass really needs to up their quality.

I had 2 calls in the last 2 weeks of people who had their FASS units quit working. Both were the pump only versions one was brushless the other had brushes.

I think one is a grounding or electrical issue, the other I dont know yet.

Yep, truck is free... ... ... ... Funny thing though, my wife went out and put a stiker on the window that says "NOT FOR HIRE". As cold as it is I might just take a ride to Texas with you. Goose hunting went right in the can since it froze up around here. Did I tell you, I pick up the new puppy next weekend? Since she spent all my extra money I had for the new motor, head work, cam, and paint, I guess I'll just train a new dog for next hunting season. I was thinking of starting a new thread. I was going to call it "TOP 100 WAYS TO HIDE YOUR TAX REFUND FROM YOUR WIFE".

Do tell - I need new stick and a turbo for spring fling. :-laf

This site has saved me thousands $$. Prior to purchasing any up grade for our trucks, a quick search here quickly helps you sort out the trash from the quality products avalible out there, regardless of the high dollar glossy full page advertisments you see in the magazines. Clearly the FASS system is junk or at least compared to the Walbro pump, highly prone to failure at a rate greater than any other system you see on the market. In fact I can't recall seeing any problem threads on the Walbro system. I would imagine if there were Glacier Diesel would come up with a real fix instead of a band-aid. I'll be placing my order for a Walbro nexy week. Thanks TDR

I love comments like this. :-laf

I bet you just read the first few posts being the thred has been updated with a happy ending. My Fass has been fine and it has been subjected to some really bad stuff. In fact it is the only fuel system I have had that keeps up with demand. I have had the P. E 4200 , the Pusher system , and the relocator program ,and the fass. Brad back in the day helped me out in Muncie at 4 am layin in the parkinglot wiring up the fass as my PE4200 done said STOP! And that was the last time the system was touched. Just recently I cleaned the brushes out as I realize "Hey this thing is not atomic powered". I amwilling to bet there are more HAPPY Customers than UNhappy. Human nature is to shout out the gripes and dare not sing the praise.

Also I give theese guys that come out with products alot of credit not just fues systems but EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING we gearheads want to zip tie , bolt on , glue ,weld and sometimes smash onto our trucks.

It takes alot of Research and development once coming up with an idea or invention. It takes a ton of testing, revisions , engineering and customer service ... etc and ontop of it all stick their necks out on the chopping block when things do go wrong.

I've been reading these same type of threads for six months now. With 4-5 negative opinions for 1 positive I think I'll spend my 500 bucks on something with a little better odds. FASS may be great for for bombers who tear their truck apart every weekend after a sled pull. I myself perfer to install something once and not have to worry about it for a couple of years or if I'm going to be laying under my truck in the snow in Muncie at 4 in the morning. Even if there is a nice FASS rep there to help me.

My FASS has performed flawlessly for over 50k now... the pump has 55k on it.

IMO, most of the failures were from the older style motor... not nearly as much with the newer one...

And from what I have read, name one other widely used system?? Of course your going to see more failures when you have more units in actual use... IMO, the glacier system, while initially promising, does not have enough time as of yet...

And as I have said in the past... I would rather deal with the problems I know, than those I don't know...
