Exactly... so I should start saving my money for a new trans really soon!

... along with parts to go in it. Not many (if any) out there that know what they are doing with a 5600 when its time to rebuild.![]()
I ran the fast coolers on my 5 spd for years but again it did not keep it from loosing some teeth, but the bearings and synchros were like new.

I did notice that he offers a $20 adapter kit for the G56 and Getrags, hadn't seen that before.

OK, the extra fluid I can see, but you're telling me that two little pieces of aluminum are going to make any difference in temps of a aluminum cased trans?
Case in point: my trans (NV5600) will run 150*F, however the transfercase won't even be warm to the touch.

Except there is no torque multiplication in 2wd, its just a direct drive... so there shouldn't be any heat.
Really? Think the dipstick will hold these?Last time I had the coolers off I accidentally forgot to re-install the magnet at the bottom of the transmission. At first I was annoyed, but later decided it's actually better this way. I clean the dipstick magnets off about every 3-6k, and if the covers never leak I'll never open the transmission again (God willing).

Yep. I have no idea how the only damage I had was those pieces and that's it. Part of me wishes I had kept that transmission to see what would happen.Besides, let's face it - you were lucky with those pieces. By all probability they should've destroyed your transmission on their way to the magnet.
I had the fastcoolers with the magnetic dipstick when I found those pieces. They were all stuck to the factory magnet.
On hot days towing 6K temp still will climb to 200*
