Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fast Idle

Does anyone know if 02 has fast idle programed for very cold ambient temps?

No truck came from Dodge with the fast/high idle enabled. You may already have the option in your firmware but it is not enabled unless somebody already explicitly enabled it. You'll have to get (and probably pay) a dealer to enable it.

You don't have to go to the dealer. Just find someone with a Smarty. Have them load any program on the truck and then take out the program. Even after the Smarty is off the truck, it leaves the high idle on the computer. Free is always good!!

Where are you located? I would enable it for you if you were close, but I'm sure someone will help if you give your location.

It was so coolo to hear the truck slowly rev up to 1100 slowly! We had 3 trucks here one morning, and we had all had a Smarty on at one time or another, so we started them all up at once and one by one they started to high idle. It was awesome! I bet our neighbors love us!! :-laf It doesn't usually get that cold in southeast Texas, so we had to try it out!
