Last night was a kick!

Helped the son move cars off his business lot in prep for the incomming storm (Ct).

Last vehicle to move was an 89 CTD D350 "donor" truck... soon to have the CTD put into an S-10.

Anyway he has this rolling chassis D350, cab with a bare frame. Only headlights and cab roof lights:rolleyes:

Well, he said "dad can you follow me to your house were I'll park the truck until I have time to do the conversion?"

Silly me... I said "of course".

So I follow him closely because he has no tail lights... .

Mind you he has a truck with no aneroid spring, no plastic coller, eccentric set to max.

Well, he nails it... . smoke cloud big time... I think he has 4:10s behind the 5 spd.

He tries to lose me, but I keep up with him (easily I might add) but through a cloud of smoke. Wish I had thee radar running.

:D :D :D

Me mighty Cummins sucks in the smoke and begs for more!!!

We pass a "Drunkin Donuts" people outside, turning heads to see the action. They obviously love the smoke, the sound of the whining turbos... . shifting gutbags... Not really much happening in Torrington as you might have guessed.

Anyway, the kid loved the old man keeping up with him... . mashing the pedal, he loves this crap.

I guess this is father/son bonding... . in the 2000s CDT style!

I wonder if my son is more nuckin' futs than me????

Did I teach him OK????

I love it!!Oo. Don't know if I would call it bonding or just a case of the old man letting the kid know he can still keep up. ;) Sounds like it was a good thing there were no cops around cause you guys could really bond when standing before a judge(LOL)

J, over Thanksgiving weekend I gave my son a early Xmas present. We put new POD's in his 92 W250. Also put in boost and pyro gauges. We had already turned the cone and adjusted the spring tension and smoke screw but had left the full fuel screw alone. Well, he ended up with 22 psi, some smoke but not too bad. Still have not turned the fuel screw. He has a little rear diff problem that needs to be resolved first.

After we worked on his, I took him for a ride in my 93 and told him I just wanted to remind him of the direction we were headed for with his truck. :D I think mine was a little heavier with the smoke.

Now, if I could just get him to post a little more on here!

Way to go Jay - "gotta keep the young uns" in their place;) ;) A CTD in an S10 - so now we have an S-10 that will run more than 100,000 miles and pull itself up a short hill:eek:

Bob

BUT-----talk about spring sag!

Yea... my sentiments exactly! But the kid has no fear... he has a buddy that installs plows for a living... they decided no big deal... just get out the torch and have a ball.

Kids these days... ...

Someone once told me... . " in the end, old age and treachery will win out over youth and vigor... . "

It's great being old... ... oh crap..... what was I thinking..... ;):D

Hey Bob,

Old age might win out but I bet the youth and vigor has a better time!:D Sorta like the old bull and the young bull standing on a hill looking down at a herd of cows. The young bull says-----

oh oh, I don't think I can finish this one as originally told without getting into trouble. Anyway, age and wisdom only works if you can remember all the great things learned in life and what to do with them! :) Now, what the heck was I doing before starting this?

Stan
