Fault Codes will all show in odometer?

Will all codes show in odometer stuck injector or other?

I suspect that I have a intermittent sticking injector solenoid the truck will run great sometimes then other times it will just run rough and die. The only code on the odometer is P2509 but that seems unrelated to my issue and I don't know how long it has been in there before this started happening.

I do have a fuel pressure gage in line and, since I put it in i've only had 5-6 psi lately its down to 2-3. I have a new lift pump here to put on Sunday while waiting for the lift pump to come in I added an aux. lift pump before the factory pump and now have 10-11 going down the road but it still stumbles and dies so I don't think the lift pump is my problem.

I have 143k miles on this truck so not a warranty issue.

Can Cummins read the codes or does it have to go back to the dealer?

Well the P2509 ECM/PCM Power Input Signal Intermittent could be related to the problem. It could be a problem with the comuter itself.

I dont know if all the codes show up or not. I believe that there may be some that only show as a related DTC in another control module, but not sure. I know I have thrown as many as 10 at a time and they all showed up.

According to my 2003 Powertrain Diagnostics Manual, california-emissions vehicles can detect a stuck/sticking injector pintle (non california trucks cannot). It's not clear to me how that relates to the 04. 5-up trucks, but I thought I'd pass it along.

Update

I took it to Hucksdorf Diesel here loacaly today it turns out to be the fuel control valve and of coarse to replace it you have to buy a whole high pressure pump for a $10 solonoid that bolts to the pump.

Although since we had it out and tested it with a knowen good one and put the old one back in it hasnt skipped a beat.
