Cool

Right on Gary :) . Now all we have to do if figure out what "Fault generated in the companion engine control module" means. What the heck good is a fault code if all it does is tell ya there's a fault code

hey Cliffman. . that one is a general code that I get a lot... when ever I go above xxx ft altitude and come back down I throw that code when I go past 25 lbs or so of boost [same with Lil Scotty from the Bridgeport area]... after several starts it goes away. .

FYI any time you throw a fault in your ECM it puts one in the Cummins PCM or visa versa. . the Dodge one will clear after a few starts or a battery disconnect. . but the Cummins one will stay until they clear it

Cause

Not sure exactly what caused the fault code but here's how it happened. Pulled into my driveway and shut off the engine. Few seconds after I realized I needed to park the truck in a different location. went to re-start the truck and it didn't start right up. Hit it again and no go. bumped it again and no start. 4 th try I held the key on and after a few cranks it finaly started. Thats when the check engine light came on. Now, I have been playing around with different settings on the Comp box. I've been running on level 2-4 in an attempt to have good HP without the low end smoke. If it's an over boost code then maybe that has something to do with it but I've never had this problem before running the Comp box on level 5-5:eek:

If you've got access to someone with a scanner - check for other codes. The 1693 is a generic one - as Willyslover mentioned. It's likely a MAP sensor undervoltage which I get from time to time under the same circumstances. Worth looking into if it happens again.
