Nobody mentioned Gary Moore, the ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist who is mainly a bluesman nowadays, playing a lot of stuff that SRV fans would love. He put out a killer live blues album titled "Blues Alive" a few years ago. If you want to hear what is in my opinion
the most blistering guitar solo of all time, see if you can find Gary Moore's version of the old Yardbirds song "Shapes of Things" on Napster, or on his CD titled "The Early Years". That'll make you go

There was a band that did well for a while in the 80's and then just dissappeared. Does anybody remember "White Lion"? Man, I think some of the solos are incredible in their songs. I believe the guitarist's name is Vito Bratta.
Someone mentioned Journey's guitarist, that would be Neal Schon. You know who he learned his craft from: none other than Carlos Santana. Another interesting bit of trivia: Jimmy Page was learning how to play the sitar back in the late 60's before the Beatles and Rolling Stones got into that Indian thing for a while. He never released anything, because he thought everybody would think he was copying them and jumping on the bandwagon. As far as I know, he's the only one who has played the electric guitar with a violin bow.
I've been spending a lot of time on the Napster website, I think it's great (when I manage to
succesfully download a song)! If you see songs on there where the user ID is "TruckerRocker", that's me. I've been seeking out some obscure late 70's/early 80's stuff. I recently picked up a song that I remember in high school that was never put on CD: "No Time to Lose" by the "Tarney Spencer Band". Anybody remember that one?
