I have to admit that Ron Tonkin Dodge in Gladstone, OR (Portland, OR) has treated me very well when I’ve been in for service. Unlike their Honda Dealership I dealt with in the early 90’s, they are very honest and helpful. They took the time to answer my questions and checked out all my concerns. I had the bent rims and they just replaced them based on the word of Les Schwab in Carson City (they found the problem during May Madness). I have also heard that Timberline Dodge in Portland is a very good dealership to work with. They are sponsoring our one day rally this July.

On the other side, I’ve several close friends (TDR Members) who have not had good luck with Gresham Dodge.

Well its not in your area But, San Joaquin Dodge/Jeep in Taft Ca Does an outstanding job. They are a real small Dealership. Their Service Dept Has told me that 99% of the people that come for warranty work or general service are people who have gotten the "Shaft" At Haddad Dodge (5 Star) In Bakersfield.

My experience with Timberline in Portland has been very uniform. Uniformly bad! Performed the 720 recall, but only installed the valve and replaced the hose, didn't check the other vacuum systems. When I brought it back complaining of a loss of vacuum brakes, they charged be $35 to tell me that it was working normally. Went home and found a bad vacuum line myself. Paid $65 for a transmission diagnosis, all I got was a road test and was told that it needed a reflash which would cost another $65. No thanks, I'm still looking for a "good" dealer in the area.

Nevada Dodge in Vegas has always done me right. The shop foreman, Tony is cool and helpful, and a guy named Craig, who I haven't met yet is into bombing the Cummins!

Gatesville Texas, Shepherd Dodge. These folks went out of their way to be helpful and do the right thing the right way and try to solve a problem that another dealer was going to charge me $70. 00 an hour for and it was under warranty.

Sam Nays dodge in Waco Texas, I would burn the truck down before taking it back there. They kept it 9 days for 2 hours of work and that was with an appointment made 10 days before.

)I had my throttle linkage rod break on me in the middle of Omaha on I-80. It was about 3:00 when it happened. I did some of my own troubleshooting to figure out what it was, called Jim's Dodge in Omaha(got the # from 1-800-4-A-DODGE) and even though they didn't have a delivery driver at that time of day(it was after 4 by this time), they brought me the part on the side of the road. I was really happy with them. I don't know how it would've been if I would've gotten it towed in and had them do it.

Here in Iowa I like the dealer in Winterset, I'm going to have the shock tower work done at Cedar Rapids Dodge (5*) and I'll let you know how that one goes. I'm also going to have them adjust my valves and check my pump timing. We'll see how it goes.

I live in Minnesota and my dealer, Jeff Belzer Dodge is OK but not outstanding. I spend winters in Arizona and have had occasion to have service in Tucson several times. Bill Breck Dodge in Tucson has a very good service department. I was able to talk directly with the Tech and was always pleased with the results. Bill Breck also services big rig diesels so they know our engines.
