fax through cell phone?

Does anyone know if you could fax through a cell phone?

I use my cell phone (Nokia) to get out to the Internet. When I ordered the cable to run between the computer and cell phone, the box said "Data / Fax" cable. Since I don't have a fax I've never tried it but going by what was printed on the box makes me think you can.

thanks, i canceled my home phone and just use my cell phone but now im going to need to be faxing alot and would rather not have to have my home phone. .

Have you thought of faxing through your E-Mail. I have been using MYFAX for a little over a year now and it works great. Was issued a toll fre number and my customers have never known that it comes and goes through the E-Mail.

I tried Efax for a little while. I did not like it as much as myfax.com. Just my opinion, but I thought it was a little easier to use and what I hated about efax was all the icons and shortcuts they plastered all over my computer without permission.

Along these lines I was wondering: My printer has a scan feature, can I scan important documents then e-mail them instead of using a fax? Would the scaned documents still be considered legal like faxs are?
