Anyone have a part # for the FCA. Of course, the parts guy at the dodge place can't find it. Also, where is it located?

I wouldn't laugh too hard at your parts guy that can't find it ... ... ... you don't know where it is on the truck :-laf

Seriously now the part# is 5183245AA,and it is on the injection pump facing the rear of the truck.

Thats the number I show as well, I will find the TSB tonight and post it if I can.

Thats the part number I just purchased for $170. 33, it didn't help with my erratic high idle, hesitation from a stop etc etc.

I guess this part never used to be listed separate.

Your right Bob4x4. I do feel a little stupid asking some of these 3rd gen questions. Their still pretty new to me. But I always have trouble ordering parts. They actually ask me today what the exact mileage was and a brief description of why I was replacing the FCA. Said they had to turn that info into Star. Heres what I told him to send to star for my reason for repalcing the part "because it does work you Dumb B*st*rd. What kind of question is that? Things are getting a little rediculous on these new trucks. But anyway, enough of my venting. Thanks guys for your help.

There is a lot to learn on these trucks that is for sure... ..... That part is not restricted it doesn't have to be ordered through star, but right now the t/stats are... ..... go figure.

Yes, this part is a star part, I had to give VIN and mileage on a truck well outside of waranty. The thermostat however, from a Cummins store is just that, a thermostat

Was there a recall notice sent out for this? Can owners of these trucks take it in for replacement if it hasn't acted up yet?

Not sure what to say? I ordered mine last week, and the dealer called me on my cell before I got home. He said STAR required the VIN and mileage, so I pulled over and gave him the info. I got it and installed it this week.

Did it fix your problem(s)?

Got the Dodge part #, how about a Cummins part #?

I had a rail pressure problem while visiting family in Missoula, MT. I chased down an FCA while in Missoula and DC wanted $180, one week wait, and only found it in the system because the DC parts guy had the sense to look at recent TSB's. The Cummins location about 1mi. away got the part in 3days for $90, though in fairness it was an exercise for Cummins to find the part also. Neither company wanted VIN #'s or milage. No, the part didn't help my problem. I still have said problem.

The funny thing is the $180 from DC seemed reasonable to me, I just wanted it faster than 1wk and thought I would check with Cummins, glad I did. From now on I will definately price needed parts at both DC and Cummins.

And what type of problems did your truck exibit? Just walked in with my FCA, Cummins RM had one in stock, $97 with tax. ***aler wanted over $400 when I checked last time I had problems! #@$%!

I was and am seeing rail pressure drop when I step into the throttle, new cp3, one new injector, all new cross tubes, rail capped, etc. Still doing it. Boy I thought a 50%discount from Cummins was good, I can't beleive your dealer wanted $400 for that little piece of nuthin'.

Got my FCA from Cummins for $76. 80, priced the part # 4932457 at a Dodge dealer, list price price was $225, said they sell it wholesale for $164, Genos Garage for $112. 95.

FYI

Yet to install the FCA, after DTC 0251 set. Hopefully it resolves my issue.
