I installed my FASS today... several points.

Chris Strickland at Relentless Diesel performance was awesome with the install... very clean and overcame hurdles like a pro. I recommend his shop to anyone who is looking to have work done to their truck.

I am not as enamoured of the FASS... first observations:

1) Damn it's loud!!!

2) Changes on the frame from 04 to 04. 5 have NOT been addressed by DPP... the installl hit a huge snag when we realized that the FASS WOULD NOT fit. we had to weld the braket onto the appropriate point on the frame, and then use a cutoff wheel to clearance support pieces behind the sheetmetal of the bed.

3) The allowances for a fuel pressure gauge are a little shady, and kind of an afterthought, but we managed to use the dash 8 port... with a little extra engineering and some parts that didn't come with the kit.

4) The thing is massive and the bottoms of the filters hang down below the level of the bed... not a ton, but 1-2"... others ave mentioned it, but I wasn't expecting it to be so bad.

The goood thing is that it does maintain my fuel pressure at 14 PSI... and since that was the main goal I am happy.

I have just installed a FASS on my 03 ram, although there may be some differences in the trucks, i believe they are pretty much the same on the frame. I could not mount my FASS where they had indicated in their instructions as it would be hanging below the truck. So i made a bracket to attach to one of the bed mounting bolts, this has put the FASS up so that it can not be seen, but is still easily accessable. I find it not to be to loud there, in fact unless you open the tailgate you can't even hear it. But with the tailgate open and the truck running, because it is mounted to the box it is loud, it also sounds strange but seems to work fine. I have not noticed any difference in the way the truck runs but am glad for the steady , reliable pressure. If you need pictures of my mount i can send them to you.

I apprciate it, but we managed to make the setup work... I am not upset with how it ended up, but kind of turned off by the lack of preperation or even warning bout the dramatic frame changes in trucks from DPP.

It's not a bad setup, but it is poorly thought out for my truck... I am glad i had the input/advice/help of a creative diesel mechanic... otherwise i would have had to settle for a very subpar mount.

Hey guys hows it going my wife works for dpp and brad sponsers my pulling truck and I just wanted to let you know that brad did not know about the frame change in 04. As of last week him and a local perfomance shop desinged a new bracket which should be out shortly.

Yeah... pretty sure Chris talked to him today... he basically said that we could wait for the new mount that he was designing or we could weld the bracket... I've been driving my CP3 on vacuum long enough.

He seems like a nice enough guy... but I really like to buy a product that is fully supported. Not to sound like a whiney *****, but it's frustrating to pay a hefty price for a product that leaves things to be desired on concealability and mounting options.

The FASS itself had a large amount of extra material on it... and it didn't seem like it would have been impossible for the designer to construct it in a way that I don't have to hack up the bed box on a brand new truck to use the product.

IF it lasts I am sure my complaining will fade away, but it seems too often on the TDR someone buys a product and is so dead set on proving they made the best purchase they never point out the deficiencies of a product. I just don't want anybody walking into this thing blind.

I understand what you are saying there are some issues that could be addresed but lets face it nothings perfect and I think you will be happy in the long run. The fass is a good pump that will deliver good fuel pressure and last a long time.

I installed the FASS in April and it works great. I lost the injection pump at 50000K because I did not have guages changed the lift pump first then the injector pump when. Installed guage just yesterday at 62000. I reinstalled cummins fuel filter because I wanted the fuel heater with out buying opion from FASS company. My truck's tack has always jump up and down even with FASS installed. When I hooked up the Cummins filter along with FASS the tack stopped jump up and down and stays steady at 15 pounds. Have FASS,VA BOX installed, MEGA Cannon, NEW LUK Clutch, next step injectors, and more guages
