I bought this truck used and the digital read out showed I was getting 25-26MPG. Actual milage was right around 15:mad:

Is there anything one can do to get this thing a little closer.

I read on the forums and most members are only 2-4 mpg off.

Is there some sensor somewhere that needs to be cleaned/replaced?

I'm currently running the Smarty beta software on SW#1 and the overhead says 30. 5MPG Haven't had the smarty connected for a full tank yet but I'm sure its off by at least 10-11MPG

Thanks guys.

Not really that I know of... I had a reflash done that was supposed to correct this, but my overhead is still consistantly off by 7 - 8 mpg.

When adding anything that changes fueling, timing, etc. , the overhead is not aware of the added fuel, and the reading is off. I can turn my TST up, and the overhead immediately starts to climb... not because I'm getting better fuel economy, but more "fooling" is being done.

I guess I am lucky. My overhead reading is always within 1mpg give or take sometimes of my hand calculated method. And as a side note my truck is stock getting a low of 17 towing and 21. 5 empty.
