Competition Ladder Bar's

Tonight in my hometown of Columbus, Indiana the County fairgrounds hosted a Tractor and Truck pull.

This consisted of stock gas 4x4 class, also a Superstock Diesel tractor class.

The last class of the night was the 4x4, 7500 lb Diesel pickup class.

I entered, drawed first pull. I did my usual 3300Rpm launch built about 25lbs of boost give or take some. I came out with great wheel speed.

The track was nice and dry (which my street tires liked!).

Anyhow,

I pulled 306'. This was the only full pull of the night.

I almost pulled the sled into the mud pit. I kept checking my mirrors for a red-flag (in fear of DQ!).

No one else full pulled... there was a couple 290's and alot of 250-270.

I guess the mods are working.

This pulling bug has got me!

That was a good run Justin, ( 3rd low??) All the automatics trucks couldn't get the power to the ground. I think the rules of the pull being a stock class turned off some competitors. A friend of mine that is on the fair board gave a copy to me there was a page and a half of regs , and they seemed really strict. I was surprised that would let someone run a box, because according to the rules i had it said they weren't allowed. Just curious what did your rig weigh, I noticed you having to re weigh several times. I was tempted to enter, but still being stock , and 5500 miles is still a little green. with that number of automatics I dont think it would have been hard to close to the 270 mark with a 6 speed.

What class did the Fords pull in?? I went down to the Ohio county fair (Rising Sun), and all the guys with fords saw Haisley and Scheid pulling in, and they threw a fit and made the officials come up with a "County Class". This was the ONLY class that had Fords in it. With the exception of one Dodge that beat all Fords by almost 75', and it was only a 260' track (or something like that, I know it wasnt 300)

fbaurley,

I ran in 4th Low.

It was more of a "hide your mods class" than a true stock class.

From my count of 15-20 trucks, there were only 3 truly stock trucks.

Almost every powerstroke had a chip (one a 140hp chip), one even had injectors.

There was one cummins with a heavily modified pump, the engine even had head studs etc.

Several 1st gen trucks, all with pump mods.

One running a PDR turbo.

On the weigh in part: I thought it was an 8000lb class.

I came to the realization quickly when I was weighing in that it was a 7500lb class.

Sort of light for our 3rd gen trucks.

I weighed 7600+ at the first weigh in. After the removal of a 50lb weight, tailgate, toolbox and spare tire. I weighed in at 7380.

I threw the tool box and weight back in and hit 7500 exactly.

Unfortunately, I woke up late for the pull and just jumped in the truck and went to the pull.

I forgot the video camera!

fbaurley, dont be afraid to pull or mod the truck.

I have 5 hooks with 8k miles on the truck.
