As many of you may remember, I have one of the very first 24v's to roll off the assembly line. Overall its been a great truck. Naturally its got its quirks. . Such as the ever popular slop box known as a TC. And what I think might be the TPS... kicking the transmission out of OD in rainy weather. . ???
But no-one can fix... because it doesn't show on the computer or act up at the dealer.
Its has close to 28K on the odo, been garaged its whole life. And last but not least... its paid for!!!
SO... . Am I crazy to be wanting a HO 6 speed?
I have new gauges and shocks in my garage just waiting to be installed. I think the only reason I haven't done anything is... . do I want a new truck or not?? Do I wait for the new model? Course I can't say that I like the pictures of the new RAM. . someone posted here.
Naturally I'm concerned that I'll take a beating on my 98. 5. .
Is it really worth the extra money I'll have to dish out? What am I really gaining? I almost never tow... so do I want the 6 speed or 5? For the same or less money I could probably install a bunch of upgrades to the motor as well as the transmission.
Side note:
Just got off the phone with a DC sales rep who said the 6 speed would be a pain in the neck if I didn't tow. . he thought the 5 speed would be a better match for me. I haven't driven either... so I don't know.
What should I do.
