Scratched my 03 fender flare on a mailbox and have about 3 - 2' long scratches on the top and side of the flare. 2 are deep enough to make the gray look off white and one scratch is deep enough to see a few small spots that are dark as if it is deep enough that it has gone through the coloring.

Options:

1. repair myself? (not even sure this is an option)

2. have someone repair it for me

3. buy a new fender flare (cost & availability)

Anyone able to offer suggestions?

I would check into the possibility of replacing, I would much rather have new and not fixed. What is the brand of flare? I have bushwacker and bought mine through www.4wheelparts.com and their price was resonable for an entire set. They may be able to help you out, depending on the brand of your flares.

Try looking for a custom shop that specializes in truck mods like converting to stake beds. Many of these shops pull off the factory beds and sell the fender flares. You can price out new ones but their costly $1700-2200. Check the body shops for a quote on the repair to the existing flare. Good Luck! :)
