question for the guys that painted their buchwacker extend a flares. did you have the rubber trim painted as well as the flare. did they paint it on the flare, or paint the flare and then the rubber. i have a silver truck and want to have the flares silver also. if i did not paint the rubber trim i think it would look terrible. does the paint fall off the rubber trim if painted.

a few years ago I had bushwackers put on a 93 gmc truck I had that was silver. I had the flares painted silver to match and they did not paint the rubber piece that went on the edge. the flares looked great on the truck and I did not think that the black rubber took away from it looking good at all.

if you do decide to have the rubber painted silver, i would do it seperately from the flare so that you will be sure to get the flare and the rubber completely painted. Cause I would bet that it would look bad if the rubber would flex a little over time and expose a small area of unpainted material if you have painted both the rubber and flare.

I have the exact flares your speaking of. They painted them silver without the rubber. They were installed with the black rubber. They look fine. I think the paint would peel form the rubber if painted. Pete
