Fender Flares

Those of you running fender flares on your trucks did you choose Bushwacker or Xenon and Why? I just put a Skyjacker lift on my truck and some 35's and am undecided on which ones look better.

I had Xenon's on my 97 Dakota to frame larger wheels/tires. This was a street driven truck only.



Very high quality/construction and pricey. They fit. They take some considerable prep for proper, lasting paint.

I used Bushwacker

I checked everywhere, and no one made fender flairs for a 3500. I got a truck accessories place to order me a set of Bushwackers and he let me open 'em up to see if I could use 'em. I had to do some trimming on the rear, but the fit and look good.

I installed the bushwhacker. Perfect fit and all hardware needed was included. I like 'em.

Neither - I bought mine from Dodge - just like the ones on sport models - protrude about an inch and are color matched. I still like them.

How much can you expect to pay for the Warn Ones... . do you have them, and did they go on easy.

Xenon

I bought Xenon and like them. They installed fairly easy, fit really good, and look great. The flexible rubber type material appears to be almost indestructable. I definitly recommend them. My only problem is I can't decide if they look better black or if I should paint them. Check out pictures on my website My server is having some issues, so if my site is down check back later. Time to do some more bombing on the ole PC.

hammersley, yes I have Warns on my 2500. Took about 20 minutes per flare to install after waiting three months for a day over 70°(for the 3M tape). I paid a little over $200/pair but this was in '95. A rock hit one at minus 20° and shattered a couple years after I bought them, Warn replaced for free.

I researched the heck out of flares awhile back, but then never bought any. What I found out may interest you though.



There are basically three choices: Xenon , Warn , and Bushwacker . They're all within a ballpark of $300 - $330 for four of them. The Warns and Bushwackers are made from a high-impact plastic and the Xenons are made from urethane, which is more flexible and tougher.



Personally I think the Xenons are the nicest made and most durable. But it all depends what you're looking for. Since I am running wider tires that stick out from the fenders a little, I wanted something to protect my truck from debris coming off the tires. The only flare of these three that looks like it would adequately protect the truck are the Bushwacker

Extend-A-Fender as they go vertically down on the sides. The others curve under back toward the fender and provide much less protection.



But if I was only looking for something that would make my truck look prettier, I would get the Xenons.



I plan on ordering the Bushwacker Extend-A-Fenders in the near future.
