Great site... I think I am a little lame when it comes to searches though. I have a 2005 2500 auto 4x4 Quadcab Laramie with KORE Chase (previous generation) and 35" toyo MTs. I have no mods to the engine... I recently considered a Banks setup but from wat I can tell not too many people use that "system"... is it because of price, dependability or performance? My questions:

1. I want to fit 37s MTs. I plan to get the core control arms to eliminate the rubbing that would occur... I already get minor rubbing at full lock with 35s. I am worried about fender rubbing with 37s... besides DRC fenders is there a cheaper route without hacking up the stock fenders?

2. Any news on the ARB lockers?

3. Anyone know of a Power Wagon type sway bar for my truck? Can I fit the PW sway bar? If so, is it a simple bolt on?

4. I would like to have an exhaust brake installed but I am not sure where to go... I am in Southern California... I also am not clear on what brand. From what I can see any exhaust brake for a 2005 auto will void the warranty... right?

I plan to keep this as my daily driver for many years... currently it has weekend duties towing my Jeep around (Rubicon Unlimited on 40s). Since the Jeep isnt all that highway friendly anymore I wanted to make this truck into something that is trail capable and reliable. After the above mods I hope to add kilby air, front winch, bumpers, larger fuel tank, and mount a roof top tent ... over the truck bed... not the roof.

Thanks!

Ive seen very few people with KORE run 37's it takes alot to get them to not rub under any circumstance. Most of the people use the DRC fenders.

Have you thought about selling your old KORE chase system in favor of a Thuren system which can be made taller to accomadate 37's, is alot cheaper, and performs way better then your old Chase system.

I have a friend that has the old Chase w/ the Bilstien 7100 and was not impressed with it at all and regreats the purchace. There are lot of people selling their KORE systems in favor of other brands and I just heard that Thuren finally steped up the table and is making taller systems like 4-6" Oo.

Honestly I dont think its wise to try to stuff 37's under a 2. 5" KORE chase. Sorry if this isnt the info your looking for, Im just giving you a different idea, one that you will be 100% happy with.

On the exhaust brake... . it make that cost worth your investment you'll need to modify the transmission controls so that you hold fluid pressure during slow down in the torque converter... . there are several kits available but the exhaust brake is about useless unless you can control the fluid pressure and send the power through the transmission and torque converter to the engine so that the exhaust brake can function... .

There is not a warranty problem with an exhaust brake on your 05 other than the issue mentioned above... . both BTW, the kit for the transmission and the exhaust brake are simple installations that most guys can do in their driveway in an afternoon... . the transmission kit is all plug and play into the existing wiring harness and the exhaust brake is simple hand tools and some time... .

We do offer both. . if you have questions please let me know...

I just added JKS sway bar disconnects. They are very simple and quick to disconnect. It is a much simpler option. The ones made for a TJ fit with a 2. 5" lift. I couldn't believe how well my truck flexes now with the KORE suspension and the disconnected sway bar.

Jason, I run 37's on my race truck with some trimming on the front fenders because you cant run modified fenders in the pro stock class. If you dont want to trim them then the only other choise is going with the glass fenders (glasswork makes them, DRC labeled them) which we run on our pre run truck. The wheel offset is going to be the major factor when it comes to the rub on the control arms not the height of the tires.

What improvements did the Thuren kit provide? Seems like different shocks are possibly the reason.

If no warranty issue... I am in! Is there a potential for faster wear on engine, trans, and TC? How much for parts? Average install cost? Any Southern California installers you would recommend? Thanks!

I have the stock wheels still. Didnt really have any plans to change them. What is preferred offset for running 37s with a Kore type lift?

Jason,

There are plenty of guys running 37's with KORE suspension. Especially on factory wheels. Check out some of the older pictures of the KORE truck and you'll see that they ran factory wheels with 37's during the Baja 1000 !

Since it sounds like you are in Southern CA, you should get a hold of Loren at Worthington Off Road. He knows a lot about the KORE set up and can offer you some good options for running those 37's.

Good luck with your project,

Best re-read jelag's statement about warranty issues. While the trans kit and e-brake are great add-ons, they are technical violations of your Dodge warranty. They do put some strain on the TC and transmission and many dealers are looking for things installed that MAY have caused component failure.

Would I install an exhaust brake and transmission control system again? Absolutely!

Would I snivel if Dodge denied warranty coverage? Probably, but I have to accept that my installation was a potential violation of warranty conditions and take my lumps for the decision.

Thanks everyone! Looks like I am going to end up only having this truck for another year max so I may hold off on these mods until I buy my next.
