Few questions

Hi just picked up my new truck a few days ago. Its a load laramie 3500 single rear wheels. I was under the impression that it has Tire Pressure Sensors, Now im not sure? I also got the remote start option I tried starting it last night after leaving work it started for a minute and stopped and I got Remote Start Aborted - System Fault anyone know what that can be?

I can only answer your question on the TPMS. This is mandate standard attachment on the 2500HD and lighter vehicles by the Feds. The 1 ton trucks and heavier do not have this FORD/Firestone fix for dummies.

On your Abort remote start was there a CEL showing?

No TPS on the 3500's. It only comes on the 2500's. To be honest with you they are kind of a pain in cold climents. My wifes Jeep has them and even with nitrogen inflated tires every big temp swing sets them off.

I was just at the dealership last night putting togther an order for a new 3500 and they assured me that it would have TPS. I even asked for a different salesman because the first one answered I don't know to the first question I asked. I was really looking forward to having that comfort of having the knowledge that my tires weren't going flat. Is there an after market product out there were I could add it later? Is there any other differences in the 1 ton vs 3/4 ton I should know about before I place my order next week?

Since the 3500 doesn't have the TPS and the deal assures me that it does I rhink I will try and work in the deal that when I receive my truck they put them on at there cost. Can the TPS be added to the EVIC on the 3500?

You can have mine if I can figure out how to remove it from my truck!

It is the biggest pain in the ___,that is ever been on a pick-up truck. I need to run my tire at max air pressure all the time in order to keep the monitor from dinging and lighting up the warning. I like to run my tires in the rear at 45PSI in the winter months and 70 PSI in the summer when I pull my 5er.

All you need is a good air pressure gage and check your tires monthly to insure proper inflation of the tires. Is this to hard to do?

this is good info. . I would not want TPMS on any vehicle ... the vehicels we have in our fleet police. . Always have problems. . and if the tire shop is not carful they are easy to damage ... . they supossedly are expensive too... a regular tire pressure gauge is easy!! and cheapespecially a SRW. . glad I am dreaming of a 3500 SRW

My wife has a 2010 tundra and the TPS is a major pain in the butt Tried to swap wheels on it and the tire shop wanted $200 just to deal with the sensors and reconfiguring the computer. The dealer owed my dad a favor so he got them to take care of it all. The sensors in each vehicle (at least toyota) are mapped to that specific vehicle. If you put a different wheel on you either have to pull the sensor and mount on the new wheel or configure the computer for the sensor that came on the wheel.
