Is TT inspection in Pa a real pain?

I use my 3500 to pull a enclosed race trailer. My inlaws have a fifth wheel camper that my wife and I were going to borrow from them and take a vacation. :) They use a Ram 2500 extended cab 4x4 short bed V10 to pull it. I want to use my Ram 3500 deisel dually, all I have to install in my truck is the mounts for there Reese fifth wheel hitch, no problem right?? I was worried about my truck being higher in the rear than his 2500. Both have the overload package on them so I think they are close in hight ( I measured my truck and it is 58 inches from the ground to the top edge of my tail gate) I will get my father inlaw to measure his tommorow. Any of you camper guys think this will work? I dont want to lower my truck as my equlizing hitch is all set for my enclosed race trailer and we will not use there camper more than once a year.

as long as your clearances are good and your trailer plugs connect correctly I can't think of any reason why you should not be good to go. I assume you have a brake controller already because you stated you pull an enclosed trailer. same with any time pulling a new trailer I would do a test drive under quieter conditions before I headed out on the road.

as you can see by my sig--I pull just what you are looking to pull--look at the 5th wheel trailer--most of the units you can adjust the height of the trailer by moving the pin up and down, my prowler has box steel with bolts you can adjust the height... . you may want to look at either a second electrical connector in the bed of truck or if only once a year an extention (my connector out of 5th to truck was REAL tight down to bumper)... ... Have fun!! R, J. B. ;)

You can buy a bolt on hitch adapter that will allow you to tow a 5th wheel with the ball mount you use now in the bed of your truck. No bed rails to deal with;)

Hook up to the 5"er, make a fist and place it on the rear corner of your Ram, extend your thomb straight up and if it does not touch the bottom of the goose neck of the trailer you will be OK.
