my #1 concern with the 5er was the hitch taking up all the bed space,Well i came across a product that i think will solves this problem. It's called the CODY CUPLER, it allows you to use a flip up gooseneck ball to pull your 5er. www.CODYHITCH. COM

5th wheel is the only way to go. I pull a 29' 5th and a 16' boat at the same time and its legal #ad
. Not to mention I can hook or unhook in less that 2 minutes. Try that when you got sway bars and some busted knuckles trying latch them down. Also backing up to a 5th for a hookup is a piece of cake(even my wife can do it if she could drive a stick). Did any one mention it is also legal to have passengers in the 5th wheel ? I can't say enough how much I like pulling my 5th, I would never consider a pull behind again. I have much better control with my rig and without a doubt its much safer and no more white knuckles when the wind blows or a 18 wheeler goes by #ad
If you want to see what my rig looks like let me know and I'll e-mail a photo !

1985 DODGE 1 ton Crew Cab(imported from California with no rust) W/8' box converted to 4X4(wasn't that hard to do!) in 1999,converted to a 1991 Cummins Turbo diesel & 5 speed Getrag in 2000(wife can't drive a stick :). 4:10 gears, limited slip rear end, 205 transfer case, 16" Goodyear GSA Wranglers and LE Package and a Sony CD Stereo. A one of a kind truck(Wish Dodge would build a new Crew Cab in 1 ton. Last year for the Crew Cab was 1985)If you want to know why I did all of this, 2 kids, one on the way and I can't stand Ford and Chevy. Kyle Hoover ,Fruitport, MI

I may be wrong, but a gooseneck and fifth wheel are two seperate animals and a fifth wheel won't work on a ball for a gooseneck.

Somebody please tell me if I'm wrong.

Stan

Paccool you're more right than wrong. Big difference between 5th wheel and gooseneck. Thing is there is an outfit that sells a conversion from 5th to gooseneck. Boy do they look weird parked. I've seen several.
