Filter minder always half down.

My filter minder is always half down. Since I installed the 230 /605 TST plate every time I even get on it a little the yellow thingy goes down half way. This never happend until I installed the TST kit and went to the 215 injectors. I have a K&N filter installed could this be it? See signature for other mods. I posted this problem the other day and Illflem replied but do to the April fools day TDR crash I cant retrieve his reply. I can push the button on it and reset it and it is o. k. until the next time I accelrerate briskly and it goes halfway down again. Are these things accurate or not?

Mine did the same thing when I put a #5 TST plate in it. I drilled a couple of 2" holes on the bottom front of the air box and that fixed it. That's on the firewall side and on the dirty side of the filter. The filter minder hasn't move since. You are pulling a lot more air thru the same little hole in the fender.

Try pulling your snorkel between airbox and fender.

When I ran my K+N I made the bottom of the filter box look like swiss cheese and it would never pull a vacuum. JM . 02

Pull the snorkel out like juicedcummins said. That will take care of it unless your filter needs cleaning.

The others covered my lost post to a T. The only other thing I suggested is switching to a BHAF if removing the snorkel and drilling holes doesn't help.

On the BHAF, I drilled a hole in the end of my BHAF and installed the filter minder in it. With my #5 plate almost full forward, and the 215 injectors, I find I'm pulling the filter minder down past the halfway point after a hard run or when pulling a load and using full fuel in 4th. gear.



There is a longer BHAF available that's about 24" long, other dimensions the same. I may have to relocate the batteries and give it a try. Call it BHAF2.



Note, the BHAF2 will not fit without major rearranging under the hood.
