As I have said many a time before, I am NO mechanic type, sigh.

Here is my query, I have recently replaced some factory parts ie:

Piers 35 Turbo

3 piece exhaust manifold

180 HP Injectors vs:160 HP Injectors

aFe OEM style air filter

The truck in question is a 1995 3500 AT 4x4.

Prior to changing air filter I noticed after the replacement of the above parts the plastic guage mounted on the filter would show the yellow insert down to the number 10 or a bit more.

This was after a 60 mile trip.

Now after replaceing the Fleetguard air filter with the aFe OEM type I still am seeing this reaction in the guage.

Should I be concerned and if so what possible remedies are available to me.

NO, I am not interested in drivng a BOMB'd vehicle just one that has a bit of reliability and is able to get out of its own way.

Thanks for reading.

If those are brand new filters, it sounds like a restriction on the intake side of the filter. Not getting enough air into the filter. Try taking out the rubber between the fender and the air box, see if it moves then. I could suck mine down easily when I was running the stock air box. You just cant get enough air into the filter through that opening with the rubber in it.

Air Restriction

I had the same problem when i was running my stock airbox, i removed the plastic boot between the fender and airbox and the restriction gauge never came up again.

Gentlemen, I do thank you. I was contemplating removal of that piece but am very cautious with what I do to this vehicle.

So, 'we'll give 'er a twist, a flick of the wrist and out she comes. ;)
