Filter minder & K&N

I am about to replace the stock filter with a K&N in the stock airbox. Will the filter minder still work/do it's job, or will it be worthless?

I have seen a truck with the 275's and a boost module pull down the filterminder with a clean K&N in the airbox. We removed the snorkel that goes from the airbox to the fender and then couldn't move the filterminder. We then replaced the paper filter and the filterminder didn't move. It appears that the snorkel is a bigger restriction than the filter, at least once you start even minor BOMBS. I wouldn't expect much from the filterminder with a K&N, especially if you take out that snorkel.

I had the exact same thing happen on
my truck as what Mike described. The
"filter minder" never did work after
I put the K&N in. I now have a
"Psychotty Air Filter" which works
much better and my EGTS are at least
150 degrees lower!
