Filter minder question.

My neighbor keeps having to reset his air filter minder. I am sure I have read a post on this site a time or two about this. His truck only has about 3k miles and is just a couple of weeks older than mine. I wanted to tell him to pay for his own membership and ask his own questions but I guess that is what good neighbors are for.

There was a TSB for the older filter minders early in 2003... spring is too weak. Can't find the TSB for it, though...

Tell him to open the lid once in a while and have a look see at the filter. I wouldn't trust those filter minder things. I had one on my Ford and never paid any attention to it. I think my filter minder on this truck lasted about 1 day and then it departed with the stock air box. :-laf

I'm not a 100% sure there was a TSB for it, if I'm not mistaken. If memory serves, it was one of those deals if customer complains replace it with the newer style minder (stronger spring). I had mine exchanged, but had to supply the part number at the time to the dealership. You can probably do a search and find the part numbers, because I know I posted them at one time on here. I believe the numbers are virtually the same except one ends in AA and the other AB.
