I am fixing to buy my oil filter and fuel filter for the first time and I have been shopping around. The Cummins shop has the all around best prices for filters that don't void my warrenty, but today I called a place that sells Baldwin filters. The oil filter was $5. 41 and the fuel filter was $9. 68. Would I be crazy to use these filters. Has anyone heard of or used them before? I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Eric

I've never heard of any problem with those filters. If your worried about your warranty on 5000$ engine doesn't make a lot of sense to try to save 2/3 bucks on a filter. Stratapores for me and I am my own warranty station.

Do a search

If you search on Baldwin you will see more results.

BTW - Baldwin is the only filters that my 99 had and my ole 92 now has 85,000 on the OD with the last 65,000 on Baldwins.

Baldwin makes a decent filter and I don't think you can go wrong using them. Personally I will continue to use the Fleetguard Stratapore filter for both my oil and fuel as I think they are the best available.

Watch for specials

This is the time of the year that agricultural dealers offer specials on filters and lubes, etc. So, don't forget this avenue. For example, I just got a flier that has 20% off Fleetguard case lots or 10% of singles until Feb 28. They also have Fleetguard Premix for 5. 99/gal by the case. Last case I got was had six gallons, just about right.
