I have finally upgraded, I traded in my 2001 for an '04. It is an entirely different ride. I love it.

Can someone tell me the part numbers for the Fleetguard stratopore oil filter and the Fleetguard fuel filter?

Also, what is the best way to remove/replace the oil filter?

Thank you.

Go to genosgarage.com They list both of these items. I ordered both of these items from them recently. Both at good prices.

I am due right now for an oil change and don't have time to order any filters yet so I picked up a Napa Gold(WIX) I don't think it is any diff. than the standard Fleetguard. Do you think they could fuss about warranty issues?

No. Warranty becomes more of an issue when it is not done. Always keep a record of the date and mileage when you have performed the service.

Napa has one that is identical to Dodge's, air filter.

The oil filter comes off pretty easy with the large adapter to fit on to a ratchet. I have used a plastic one, like Geno's sells, but it is now broken... . One of the members who is a machinist is making some quality aluminum filter extractors, do a search... . his handle is JHardwick.

Mike I use the same Fleetguard part numbers for my filters that I did for my 2001.

Blownaway I used Napa Gold on my last truck. When comparing one side-by-side to a Stratapore it looked a bit inferior and the circulation holes are larger on the Stratapore. After spending over 4-1/2 years on TDR I'm convinced Stratapore is the best filter you can put on your Cummins, short of a bypass system!

O. K , I have 5000 miles on this oil, it is Rotella and has a stratapore filter on it. The first change was at 3000 now I have 8000miles on the truck, Should I push the oil change a bit further until I can get a Fleetguard? Maybe it would be better to get new oil in there with the Napa Gold and change it at an earlier mileage next time. BTW I have a 2500-3000 mile trip to southern Cali on this oil so it is not hard mileage.
