Has anyone here used Baldwin oil filters on the Cummins ISB 24-valve? I did some research on oil filters and was dismayed to find the results of testing and disassembling the various oil filters available on the market.
I tend to lean towards changing my oil at shorter intervals due to buildup of acids in the oil that cannot be filtered out. I guess I am still confused about whether to use regular mineral-based oil or synthetic. When I worked on offshore crew and mud boats the company specified Shell Rotella-T changed at 100 hour intervals; those engines (Detroit diesels) ran almost constantly on back-to-back runs in what I would call severe service. We used Racor filters on every boat I worked on.
Are Racor filters available for Dodge Cummins applications? I have not read about any conversions on threads in this forum.
Also where is a good vendor for Psycotty or Scotty air filtration?
