Not trying to beat a dead horse but thoght I would give an update. My threads were talking about poor fuel mileage on my 98 12v(9-11 MPG to refresh memories). Went back to dealer before warranty runs out in 2 months and dealer said truck ran fine and they couldnt run a fuel consumption test because there was no mileage set for my truck. I called Chrysler and complained and they called the dealer ship and asked them about my truck and the guy couldnt find the service manager but talked to his assistant and he said he would run a consumption test. the Chrysler rep assured me they would fix it. Called back later that day and they said the other things that were supposed to be done were done but he didnt test either because of no set ratings. I asked to speak to the manager but he was busy and never got on the phone I reluctantly picked up my truck and brought it home. Called another dealership on that Monday and asked them about it. They said they would probably say what the other dealership said that if it ran fine it was okay. Screw this, I found an authorized Bosch dealer and took my truck there. (I dont have the time to be dropping my truck off here and there to get it fixed and nothing is getting done) Anyway my fuel pressure was very low and they had to stick in a new overflow valve and now my pressure is where it is supposed to be. Called Chrysler with the bill and they wont pay because work wasnt done by a dealership and after arguing they hung up on me!. (Called 1800 992 -1997). Then I called the dealership up and told him what was wrong and that peckerhead gave me a cocky answer like he didnt give a crap and he only gets paid by the manufacturer and I should call them Shoulnt the dealer have checked fuel pressure and timing issues when it was there? Do any of these dealers know how to check these things or is their heads shoved so far up their Hershey Highways that they only know basic diesel repairs?? Can someone give me another number to call?? Very pissed now looking at 2 newer Chrysler products in my drive. Can someone give me my service managers home address????
