Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
Just a quick recap, Took my truck into the dealer 5/6/2015 for crackling noise in speakers. Sometimes really bad, other times just in background.
5/06/2015 Visit 1, diagnosed as bad speakers. ordered new ones. Speakers on back order.
7/14/2015 Visit 2, installed new speakers, same problem, ordered new amplifier.
8/07/2015 Visit 3, installed new amplifier, problem fixed.
I thought it was the amp from the beginning but I guess they have to follow their procedures. Problem actually started back in Spring of 2014 but was very intermittent. When it finally failed most of the time I took it in.
