Many of us spend years looking at our favorite trucks thinking "I should get it painted".. but we never do! After 15 years of ownership and 421,000 miles..I broke down this month and dropped old faithful off at the body shop. 20 years of dents and dings, faded, chipped and falling off paint disappeared. I ask the body shop, whats the brightest white on the market and they told me the Toyota bright white was a really eye popping white, so I went with PPG Toyota bright white. The truck came out of the body shop looking brand new. Currently it has the Power Wagon wheels and 295/70/17 Nittos, which fit the truck perfectly. Today, EVERYTHING on the truck works (as of 6:00PM 9-9-2016 LOL) I opted to leave the door pillar white vs the OEM black. Now I need to figure our what (if any) body decal / logos / badges I want on the truck.

If you have been thinking about it, and you have a basically straight, fairly rust free truck, DO IT! It's well worth it and I'm really pleased with the results. Now it's on to the interior, Put some lipstick on that pig!

Man, that looks great. Proud for you.

My poor old truck looks like a molting snake that couldn't get out of it's skin in one piece and just has patches hanging on.

Sweet! My vote is for the OE door callouts and the matching tailgate call out. Maybe a real thin red pinstripe to match the red cummins call out for the door.

Nice, I hear you on waiting so long. Have had mine since 5/01 and finally last August I had it done. It was getting crusty at the rear wheel houses, front fenders between the wheel house and door, and the driver's door bottom. Had wheel house portions welded in, new outer front fenders and scored a new still in box Dodge drivers door from a member for silly cheap. Stuck with Light Driftwood, haven't placed any moldings back on and not sure if I will yet. I installed some 67 GTX hood scoops with chrome bezels and trimmed the 24 valve turbo diesel emblems from under the 2500 door badges and placed them on the sides of the scoops. I like it, need to post up some pictures at some point. Like you real pleased my truck looks as good as it runs again.

My 96 was showing the effects of 17 years of Northern Indiana winters . I had it repaired and painted in 2013 looks great feels great. north of $10,000 but well worth it.

I bought a clean rust free southern bed a few years back due to NE Ohio winters getting the best of the floor in mine. Finally got around to painting it this winter. Had a friend do the work, the color is off a touch due to 18+ years of fading but it's close enough for a work truck. The bed cost $600 and I had another $500-$600 in getting it painted.

Mine was base coated, then clear coated with PPG Toyota bright white. The truck had several dents and dings that they repaired. I worked with a local shop, and they hit me for $4K. I felt like this was a fair number, considering the size of the truck and the quality of the work they performed.

Biggest issue currently is locating interior parts that are any better than mine.. the plastic Dodge used is crap. Also, Dodge is not supporting 20 year old vehicle parts on many items. I still find a few OEM MOPAR pieces that are available. Parts store replacement stuff is cheap, Chinese junk. I try to use OEM when I can... getting harder and harder.
