I have had my truck for over a year and have finally decide to get a chip. I am looken for one that has some power and a MPG setting. I want to get a power and montoring combo system. Extra smoke a plus. I am getting about 12-14 mpg prolly drive to fast tho.

I have looked at the edge and the 6 gun. Looken throught the posts I have seen the smarty jr is a good one as well.

Any ideas.

Hi Dave, I'm thinking of a programmer as well. Based on the extensive reading i've done here on the site, i'm leaning hard towards the smarty jr. I like the fact it's undetectable to the dealership, and from what i've read i think it provides a slight increase in MPG's over the Edge. There's also no question how much power/throttle response most members say it adds. I have not heard as much about the 6 gun, it may be a great product but from what i've seen, there's alot more members that are running the Edge and the Jr.

Oh and BTW, if you're looking for smoke, i'm sure most members will agree you'll get your share with the Jr!!!

I have the Smarty Jr and it has been great. Running on economy level one and have picked up 2. 5 mpg. Just got back from a 420 mile trip over the mountains and running empty 70-75 I got 21. 8 mpg. As far as the smoke issue I know some are having issues but I only get a little more when I hit the throttle on low boost, otherwise not any more then stock.

The best programmer out there right now is smarty, then smarty jr. but if you want a chip the best beginners chip is the edge and the top of the line in my opinion is tst, your gonna want gauges right away.

My saying is "Friends don't let friends drive banks", its over priced and under powered.

I get only 12-14 MPG I drive a little to fast is there something wrong? Some stop go driving. I want a chip and gauge combo what should I go for?

You can also look at Bully dog PMT or triple dog outlook combo.

why do you have your heart set on a combo? If you install gauges it opens up your options 10 fold.

Go the Edge route. you'll get more power then you can handle with the hot un-lock.

The Edge vs TST as far as interface and user-friendlynes and easy to read gauges, and the ability to display MORE data about the truck via the data from the data port, Edge beats TST hands down.

If you want to spend the little extra for analog gauges, then go with the TST. have had hte edge and like it, but ran into stacking and lack of performance problems. I run the Smarty and TST combo, however, the TST box's interface is outa of sight, since it's ugly :)

What about digital gauges and then a programmer.

What is a good set of digital gauges? Would smarty jr be a good idea with digitals? EGTs, transmission, and boost. or do i need to monitor more than that.

if you want gauges i have installed isspro and diprocol optix series and they both are really nice gauges.

The smarty jr. is just I think 1,3,5 settings of the smarty and from what I have heard, number 3 setting is getting the best mileage out of all the programmers

I have the Jr and I am very happy with it. the only thing I will give up Jr for will be Smarty Sr. As for the digital guages I have the Quadzilla commander and again am very happy with it. you can se the commander to control other boxes such as a mp-8 ans quads own line of boxes.
