it sure does makes me feel good, and gives a sense of an accomplishment DslMinded, and i won't have to worry about the kdp anymore.

supeerman, job was really easy, until i found out i had the wrong seal and cut the rubber lip on it, and had no money to get another, luckily a buddy loaned me 30 bucks for another one. just be care full about getting the lip of the front seal (if you are going toget a new one) to be on the inside of the front cover. luckily my teacher pointed that out!(it won't seal well the other way) in all it was very easy. yeah i was nervous too, put if of for a month then decided it was time to do it. hope you have an easy time.

thanks for the advice, ill definately pay attention to the seal, my question is what did you make your tab out of? would just a piece of sheetmetal be enough or should i use some flat stock

When i done mine i used a piece out of a bracket that was used to hold my fiberglass running boards on. One board broke in accident and both came off. The bracket was about 1/8 thick (at the most) and had holes in it every inch or so. The holes already in it made it a breeze.

I think sheet metal is plenty thick enough to hold the KDP.

i made my tab out of a small bracket that i found "laying" around at school, it was a perfect fit after a little grinding down and shapeing, it fit right in, i put a little red lock-tite on the bolt that holds the tab in, before instalation.

hope this helps
