Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Finally got my 12v, and now it's gone!

After a hectic day, which included rushing my dad to the emergency room (ended up being ok) my wife meets me up at the hospital and we run to Applebees to grab a bite to eat. Gone about 30 min. and I get a call from my Mom telling me to get back up to the hospital ASAP because my truck is on fire :--) I bail out of applebees in a dead heat and fly through town in my sister-in-laws Camry.



I get to the hospital where my truck had been sitting for over 3 hours and there are police and fire crews everywhere I run over expecting the interior to be fried, but it was perfect. I unlock the truck pop the hood and everything plastic, rubber, wire, hoodliner, etc is melting



Push it out of the parking spot to roll it up on the rollback and it starts smoldering again. I hit it with my fire ext. and finally get it out. The fireman and the cop both did reports and anticipated damage between 10-12k just from visualization. This sucks! Especially since I just dumped several grand into the truck - new SBC clutch, new magnaflow 4" stainless exhaust, new oil pan gasket, KDP kit, new fuel level sending unit and a few little items here and there. Just took the truck to Ohio and back over the 4th without incident.



Thank God I went with full coverage!

Me too, when all is said and done that was the only thing I was concerned about yesterday was my pops. Fought like hell until I realized he was just trying to make me a man and for the last 10 years we have been very close.
