I was pulling a 38 foot Montana up the Rockies out of Ft. Nelson BC. On a long straight uphill stretch, I came up on two fivers going slower so I went around them both in one shot. Both were Ford 6. 0s pulling similar sized Titaniums. I thought nothing about it as, being used to the road, I travel faster than others on it. When I got to the top at Stone Mountain, I stopped and got out to take a break. After some time, the two rigs I passed stopped behind me. The driver of the front rig, a beautiful King Ranch, got out and looked mad. I am thinking, did I throw a rock or something. He went right to the trailer I was towing and looked at the weight tag. He then said, "I didn't pay 50 thousand for a truck to be beaten by a $%#@ Dodge!" He then got back into his truck and drove away. Of course, I didn't tell him my EZ might have helped a bit. To make matters worse, I passed them both again latter on that day.

Beautiful - absolutely BEAUTIFUL! :D :D

I had a similar experience a few years back with my '91 - passed a Ford pulling a similar 5er to mine up a pretty good grade - my brother-in-law was behind me pulling the exact same trailer as mine with his '95 Dodge, and he passed too. Up ahead we stopped at a rest stop, and the Ford owner stopped, pulled in next to us, and then simply stood there GLARING at us the whole time we were stopped - dunno why he stopped, or what his problem was, but...

I keep an eye out for Ford and GM stuff - we put on lots of RVing miles, and I've passed a fair share of other makes in the hills, but I think most simply pull off and HIDE when they see a Dodge in their rear-view mirrors! :D :D :D

Funny, because when my truck had an EZ, afe intake, and 4" exhaust, a stock 6. 0 could still easily beat me... Of course my truck is an SO not an HO...

sympathy card?

I think you should send the King Rancher a Hallmark card for making him feel bad - you big meanie.

Dear owner of *insert brand*, sorry I passed your a$$ uphill. But when I see a Slow Mo Fo, I just gotta Go. If would make you feel better, I could wait at the top and let you pass me on the downhill side.

Sincerely,

EZ on 3. Pirate, you say a 6. 0 could beat you; is that with a load in the hills or ? The SO in CA is 235 hp right? Mine is 305 without the EZ.

I have driven the 6. 0s and they do accelerate. I have never towed with one though. However, I have never had one pass me on a hill with a load.

Well on the other hand,it happened to me too back in 99,I had a 99 SuperDuty 7. 3 PSD and I passed a Dodge in some what the same conditions, the Dodge had gauges and plenty of smoke rolling out of it,the PSD was tweaked slightely,I really liked that truck, but now I am pure DodgeBoy:)
