Well I am posting this pic just because it has the part # for the wiring harness that connects the Mopar SDFK to the ECM. The harness allows the ECM to activate the WIF light as well as the fuel heater on the filter kit, though the WIF light function needs to be activated by the dealer using StarScan or equivalent. All that being said, I took this pic for MWilson to help him id the type of connector that the harness uses on the fuel filter, but just after I took the picture, as I was tucking the plug back into the bag, I saw that "Deutsch" was embossed right on the plastic plug, so I can say without a doubt that this is a Deutsch type connector, and when I order the Donaldson filter that I want to get, I can specify deutcsh type for the water drain valve/ WIF connector and it should be plug n'play for the harness. I am waiting to insytall the wiring harness until I order the Westach Dual fuel pressure gauge so that I can run the sending unit wire inside the Mopar harness, up to the engine compartent, and then to the fuel pressure gauge in cab.

AH64ID, I was hoping that you would look at this from a Donaldson brochure to see what you think about the P558000 and the P550848. The water removal specs at the end of the left hand (light brown colored) column, first page. They are rated at 95% efficiency for removal of both free AND emulsified water, yet still have either a 15 mic or 10 mic/ 99% efficienct filtering as well, at either 90 to 100 gph.

I do believe it's a typo. The last time I called Donaldson the specs in that flyer were wrong for the P558000, so I would call and verify the accuracy for the P550848. The filtration specs are correct, it was the f/w sep ratings that were wrong.

Right again, AH64ID... the P558000 is in fact only 85% efficient at removing emulsified water and 95% efficient at free water with 99% absolute 15 mic filtering.

However, the P550848 IS rated at 95% efficiency for emulsifed water removal, 95% efficiency for free water, and 99% absolute @ 10 mic filtering.

The P550848 IS also 3/4" longer then P558000, so I'll have to double check to see if that will be an issue for fitment with the skid plate.

All that being said, I now would like to ask you think that a 10 mic primary filter is too fine for a primary filter??
As always, thanks for your enlightened opinion!!!

Good info!

I like a 20um, but you should be fine with that 10um as it will probably hold a lot of dirt before it clogs.

Well just got off the phone with Donaldson and found out that the P558000 only holds 15 grams of "dirt" , while the P550848 holds a whopping 82 grams of "dirt", so it looks like I'll be going with the P550848, as long as I can get it too fit. It is 8. 4" long from the top of the can to the bottom of the deutsch connector.

Well I checked after work today and the Donaldson P550848 will fit just fine... particularly well if I convert the WIF harness to the right angle Deutsch plug that I found. So that's what I am going to use as the primary filter.

While I am in no hurry to install the harness, because I do not yet have the pressure senders for the dual gauge I want to run in-cab, I DO have a question as to whether the harness is plug n'play with the WIF at oem canister and only need to be programmed by Star Scan, or if I also need the harness adapter shown here--

I THINK that the difference has to do with whether I am running the new SDFK or the old SDFK kit on either the 5. 9 or 6. 7, but I can't quite figure it out... can anyone chime in here??

Is that C&C bracket available by itself anywhere? I sure like the way you incorporated it into your system, and would like to do the same with my kit.

Might have an extra old style Mopar kit with the C&C chassis bracket... let me look tomorrow and I'll pm you.
