It's finally here... what a truck!!

As everyone says, it's worth the wait. It was built March 15 and picked up yesterday about 5 PM... nearly 2 months in the rail yard tied up in the paint fiasco and my patience was wearing very thin with DC!! I let my wife drive it home... big mistake! I don't think I'm going to get her out of the driver's seat!!

I took this photo before parking it in the "toy house".

nice truck

Nice truck, Robert said he had ordered you another truck since yours had taken so long. You can let your wife have this one and just take the other one for yourself. :D Look forward to seeing it at the next meeting. Have already talked to DTT about some improvements to 48RE.

James

Mine is SUPPOSE to be shipped today. Anyone know the AVERAGE ship time from Saltillo????

Ordered with 3:73/ETH/DEE... ..... Hope I did'nt make a mistake on the rear end ratio... ... ..... Does anyone know if AA has a 3:90 available? I emailed them with no reply and their website won't tell you squat... ... ... ...

James,

I didn't win the lotto!!

If I won the lotto, I'd order a "6 shooter" for myself. :D

I might be interested in the Smart Box for the 48RE in combination with a PacBrake. Being able to get lockup in 2nd gear and hold lockup to speeds lower than 40-45 MPH would be helpful.

I want to take a trip to Colorado hauling the Lance to see how badly I need the exhaust brake. Really see how good those big disk brakes stop!! Also I want to see how this truck goes over Raton and LaVeta Passes.

Barry,

The paint fiasco is supposedly over and yours shouldn't take long. Congratulations on your order!!

Hey, with the 3. 73 you can still drag those big 5th wheels... spend more time in 5th gear, but with that quiet engine you won't even notice!!

Bill

Well its about time! I can't imagine waiting that long knowing its out of the plant just sitting in a rail yard. I've been going nuts waiting on mine and its just been over 2 weeks. Mine and Lance's are supposed to ship today so they will probably make part of the trip with Barry's.

Hurry up!

Darren,

Yep, that's the hard part... knowing it's built and in transit on a slow train/truck.

Hey, you guys will probably driving your new rides in a couple of weeks. Has David heard anything on his new ride yet?

Did you see the photo of our truck Dick posted on the BDDDC web site? "Bill & Janet's New Ride"

I see a BIG "show and tell" corral at the next BDDDC meeting on June 7th at Bic's!! :D

Dean,

Thanks... we make good choices... great minds...

Barry,

Mine shipped on the 8th and was at railyard on the 14th. Should b at dlrs today (leaving in a little bit to go wait). Ck with DC on shipdate and track it on the Union Pacific site. If they using Santa Rosa as the dist point for TX add 2 days for loading on truck and then travel time to dlr.

May try to bring mine home for the weekend (to start the bombing) and back to dlr on Monday for the other "goodies". :D:D

Bill,

Your truck looks great. Glad you finally got it.

Just called today and I've got a VIN#. It should be built sometime next week, and they didn't have a ship date yet.

I just hope they don't mind me calling everyother day, cuz Oo. I'm Oo. ready Oo. for Oo. my Oo. new Oo. truck Oo.

More than likely Barry's truck will come through Laredo and to the rail yard in Mesquite, TX which is where most of the north central Texas destination trucks are routed.

Mine was put on the rail car this morning, so we must all be traveling together. The Union Pacific site says due in Tulsa the 20th. Haven't figured out how to follow the rail car on their site though. ( I do have rail car number )

Money,

Lance and I have been calling everyday between the 2 of us and they don't seem too upset yet. Ours are in paint as of 5-15 so they may ship today or tomorrow. I thought about you today as I saw a new red 2500 in Plano. Is that the color you're getting?

Darren,

Yep, it'll be re-sale RED.

Also, I did verify that even the 2500 HO/48re's have the 11. 5 in. rear diff.

David

Mine is supposed to be shipped on the 20th of May so I hope it doesn't get caught up in the paint problem. I leave on vacation the 30th and hope to at least see it before i go.

I noticed that on the 11. 5". Any idea as to how much lube the 11. 5 will hold with a Mag-Hytec>

Darren,

In another thread, a guy indicated it is 8 qts for the 11. 5 w/ mag-hytec. Don't hold me to that. Either way, with you're high pressure lube dispencer, that should only take about 4 seconds.

Bill,

Can you give me the exact web address for the BDDDC. The link from within TDR doesn't work, and i'm gaving trouble finding it.

Thanks,

David

I realize that I have really skewed this thread on to a tangent with the diff capacity question. But now I feel inclined to reply to the HPLD you mentioned. With more pressure and less leakage I could probably get that down into the 3 sec range. 8 qts of lube rings up to a pretty penny but its nice to know there is plenty of capacity. We got 3. 5 qts out of the rear diff on Mike's excursion. phords?
