Why all the differences in orders?

Ordered on 09/27 and dealer in Id. advised that truck will be built in December??? 3 monthsK?? what da hell da matter with DC or my dealer?

Well to make a long story as short as possible, I just got back from BD Dyno Days, but on my way to BD on Friday I talked with my dealer and the Regional Rep. Both told me that all the Diesels orders have been rejected by DCX. That included 9 pre-sold trucks including mine! I confirmed that with DCX, my order was at BX last time I checked and now it does not have a status assigned to it. The Factory Rep said that DC was slowing the production on the Diesels down for and early release of the "NEW" EPA engine. I explained that I don't want the NEW engine. The Rep told me that I have 2 choices, I could either wait and see if my order is picked up in the November allocation, (which he could not guaranty) and see what engine was allocated to that VIN number, he then informed me that either DC or the Shippers, (I was a bit upset and I can't remember which one) take 2 weeks off for Thanksgiving and 2 weeks off for Christmas so I wouldn't see the truck until January or maybe February! My other option is to have my dealer do a search and try and find one that was already built that I would accept.

I tried to call my dealer after my conversation with the Rep and my salesman was out for the rest of the day! I called on Saturday Morning from BD, and he didn't get in till after 1:00 in the afternoon. I left several messages and he finally called me back about 4:00 that afternoon! I told him to do a search and find out what was available. He said that it was too late on Saturday, he was off on Monday, and he would not be able to do a search until Tuesday!

This is the PITS! The first time I have ever order a vehicle exactly what I wanted! What a bad experience!

DC had the order on my truck on September 22.

Please post if you are having similar problems with the truck you have ordered.

For those of you who don't know, you can follow the procedures outlined at this site to get the status of you truck.

BX is now BG status

Just checked today and now I have slipped in status sometime in the last week from BX to the now BG status

Again, Ordered Sept 29th, 03 DR8H41 Laramie

This stinks. I would like to get truck built this year w/o EGR.

Wow. I ordered mine around the end of Sep and I'm scheduled to be built 3-7 Nov. I sure hope I get non-EGR engine. The customer service person said 'all 2004 engines will have emissions' when I got my VIN. I keep telling myself that she didn't know what she was talking about.

This is like '98. 5 all over again. More than likely the improvements will outweigh the detriments. I'm thinking that the delay on my truck may not be so bad. I sure am curious though.

This just has to be a bad dream. Surely they can't shut down lines to await egr. Come on folk we are talking the total world's supply of ctd trucks?. So much for my happy dance of getting a von.

This backs up what my dealer and the Dodge Regional Rep said to me on Friday!

I sure would be nice if we could get the real from Dodge!

If you folks really want the pre-Jan04 engine, post what you HAVE TO HAVE, and what you would like to have. I'm sure some of us will be checking out the local dealers anyway :D and can look for you.

I ordered a 3500 SRW on Sept. 16, then screwed up the order by changing the color and had to wait 2 weeks longer. That's OK--I get it 6 weeks after ordering in the color I want. I have to look at it every day!:p

In Paint?

(This is the Mrs again!)

DC gives me a different story each time I call, but I like this one. Originally, they said it was scheduled to be built 3-7 Nov. I was getting nervous reading these posts about delays and holds, so I called today to make sure it was on track. They said the truck is in PAINT. :D Oo. Have you ever heard of them being ahead of what they had scheduled?

They couldn't tell me when they expected it to be delivered, but at least its built, hopefully with a non-egr engine. Otherwise, I am going to have to deal with a very cranky husband! :{
