Well, I wondered if I would ever see gasoline priced under a dollar a gallon again. Last Saturday I noticed that several stations in this small city I live in had gas for . 999 per gallon.

I hope this is a trend that will continue, but it probably won't.

By the way, I have been buying diesel at a nearby Flying J for a couple of weeks at $1. 139 per gallon.

please go back up

I can't stand the tension at work when we don't get any orders for well perforators because prices are down. There is even talk of eliminating second shift. We will be closed all week at Thanksgiving and Christmas :( Here's to wishing the prices will go back up.

"You can please some of the people all of the time, and you can please all of the people some of the time, but... "

 $1. 289. the cheapest diesel around here. Reg. unleaded. . $1. 039

WHY, does the diesel cost so much more than the gas:confused:

Ok, I'll calm down now.

One of the stations I was refering to above was at . 989 today. I was driving my girlfriend's Dodge van going to the parts store to pick up an oil filter so I stopped and filled up. It's been a while since I saw a receipt where the number for gallons was higher than the number for price.

Seems strange but a Sam's Store about 2 miles away was at $1. 009. What is going on when other stations are cheaper than Sam's?

The nearby Flying J truck stop has diesel today at $1. 119.

Diesel prices at the Flying J on I-10 out side of Gulfport, Mississippi is $ 1. 09 a gallon and $ 1. 19 in Picayune.

$1. 13 in Opal, VA last weekend. :)

$1. 39 in Annandale, VA same day

(approx 40 miles apart, one 5 miles outside DC, the other 45 miles)

$1. 459 is the best gas here. Diesel is just slightly higher in most places.

What on earth is making the difference?

BTW, Wal-Mart sells gas a couple hour's drive from here that's 12 cents less a gallon than the other stations nearby. Hope they put in a Walmart gas station here soon...

Where I live near Sacramento, CA, diesel is in the mid $1. 50's a gallon, gasoline about $. 10 higher.

I was back East last weekend visiting my girlfriend in Harrisburg, PA, and in that area, gasoline is anywhere from $. 98 up to $1. 30 a gallon, diesel was in the low $1. 30's.

Diesel down in the mid and lower central valley in CA is also in the $1. 30 range.

Welcome to California, where we refine the darn stuff

Here in Haines, AK it's $1. 82 for unleaded; $1. 80 for diesel, down from $2. 06. Just down the canal in Juneau it's $. 40 cheaper across the board.

Try truckstops and along interstates

Just got back from a 2500 mile TX-NC-TX trip. The

gas prices along I-10 and I-65 were as low as . 90/

gallon for regular unleaded and diesel as low as

$1. 10/gal. Seems the cheapest was in GA along I-

65.

Last week gas was 94. 9 and now it is 104. 9 last time I looked in Austin,Tx. . Shell in Bastrop was 113. 9 when I went by it this morning. Will stop this afternoow and fill truck . Holidays comming up so there go the prices.

I understand jwgary's plea for prices to go back up being in the petroleum business for 45 plus years. I also understand the rest of you wanting the prices to be as low as possible but it ain't realistic. The market regulates the price just as it does with milk and bread. You might not believe why the price is down right now however. Russia won't go along with OPEC and is keeping the valve open while OPEC is trying to close it.

Go figure. Maybe he likes Texas BBQ.

It ain't getting any better

We just had the first round of lay-offs today. Can you say low employee moralle? Just remember guys that when you pay less at the pump someone is not getting that extra money that you used to pay. I like the low prices too, but it really hits home when you have to watch one of your co-workers load his toolbox in his truck to go home at 10 a. m.

Sorry, but I just have a hard time coming up with any sympathy for the oil companies when it was reported a while back that Exxon-Mobil was reporting such obscene profits. With all the crying being done by the oil companies how can they report these record profits and expect any consumer of their products to not feel abused?

Just an update on local fuel prices.

It is the day before Thanksgiving and the local Sam's has regular gas for $0. 879,the other local stations are at $0. 979 and $0. 989 in most cases.

I filled my truck at a nearby Flying J yesterday at $1. 099.
